Where to find this option

Open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector in Claude (web or desktop) and paste the URL.

Sign in

Your AI client will open a browser tab and ask you to sign in with your YoutubeToText account, the same login you use on this site. You stay connected for a year of use. You only need to reconnect if you remove the connection, or after a year without using it.

Use it

Once your client is configured, paste a YouTube link into your chat and ask for one of the things below. Your assistant handles the rest and returns the result. Longer videos take longer.

Troubleshooting

Common errors and what to do.

When	What it looks like	What to do
First request, not signed in	`invalid_token: Authentication required`	Sign in when your client opens the browser tab.
After a year without using the connection	`invalid_grant: refresh token has expired`	Remove and re-add the connection, then sign in again. Your client may show its own wording.
Out of minutes	`See https://youtubetotext.ai/#pricing to upgrade your plan or buy more credits.`	Upgrade or buy credits. Minutes are shared between the site, the API and MCP.
Too many requests	`Rate limit reached (60 requests per minute). Try again in N seconds.`	Wait the number of seconds shown and try again. The limit is per account, shared with the REST API.
