Yes, but we can process videos of up to 4 hours. Long lectures, full conference talks, and multi-hour podcasts are all handled in a single transcript, no chunking or stitching required.

Why this over running Whisper myself?

Accepted Answer

Running Whisper yourself means setting up GPUs, downloading audio, chunking long files, and stitching results together. Whisper still doesn’t do speaker diarization (labels) out of the box. We use ElevenLabs Scribe model (which we found beats Whisper on accuracy and speaker detection), wrapped in a pipeline that just works from a YouTube link.

What do I do if something goes wrong or the transcript is wrong?

If you experience errors, we offer support via info@youtubetotext.ai and we’ll review transcript issues manually. We also encourage users to report problematic videos so we can improve our models.

What happens if I cancel mid-month?

You can cancel anytime. Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period. You keep full access to paid features until then, and you won’t be charged again. Your transcripts and account remain accessible even after you downgrade.

How accurate are the transcripts?

We consistently achieve over 95% accuracy on most videos. Results may vary slightly based on audio quality, accents, and background noise — but we’re built for real-world use, not perfect studio conditions.

How do we ensure quality?

In comparison to similar tools, our transcriptions are accurate because we use the higher quality Scribe model by ElevenLabs. After trying several models, we found that ElevenLabs's model works best for Youtube transcripts. Scribe is also very good at speaker detection, which isn't supported by Whisper.

What if the speaker labels are wrong on my interview?

Speaker diarization is hard, especially with overlapping speech, similar voices, or poor mic setups. You can rename and reassign speakers directly in the transcript editor, so a one-time clean-up fixes the whole transcript. If the result still looks off, reach out and we’ll re-run it with adjusted settings.

What happens to my data?

We store your transcripts privately. You can share them via a secure url with friends, but they are not 'discoverable'. We do not store any user information, other than your email, ourselves. You can connect to our website via your Google or Apple account, and all your billing information is stored securely by Stripe, and not on our own servers. We also do not share or sell any data with third parties.
